An Upcycled Outdoor Bistro Set Creates An Adorable Seating Area In A Cottage Inspired Garden

Decorating the outside space of our homes is just as important as decorating the inside of our homes. We should always create comfortable and inviting outdoor living spaces where we can sit and enjoy nature. Designing our outdoor spaces does not have to cost a fortune either. Today I am going to share with you, my dear readers, a cute little upcycled outdoor bistro set that adds charm to my outdoor space. This makeover story begins in my local thrift shop.

Can You See Potential In These Two Thrift Store Chairs?

I found these two outdoor chairs at a local thrift shop for $5 each. They were not much to look at as you can see but I liked the shape of them. They are made of heavy iron and had a comfortable, yet ugly, seat cushions. So many outdoor chairs are very uncomfortable, made of wood or metal with no cushion for support. I knew I could simply recover the drab seat cushions.

Remove, Reuse, Redesign

When I got my chairs home I removed the seat cushions and recovered them in a fun green and white gingham check outdoor fabric.

The new fabric makes a major improvement on the chairs already. To keep the seats fairly waterproof I left the vinyl cover on each seat and just covered over it with the new fabric.

After the seats were done I painted the metal frames a soft green by Rustoleum.

Once the paint was dry I replaced the seat cushion to each chair. These upcycled outdoor chairs are just darling.

I paired the two newly renovated chairs with a small white outdoor table that I had for a few years.

This upcycled Outdoor Bistro Set is the perfect place to sit and relax with a cup of tea and a good decorating magazine on a warm sunny day.

With a little creativity you can have a beautiful outdoor space where you can relax and enjoy the great outdoors even on a small budget. If you only have pocket change to spend skip the big box stores and scour your local thrift shops and yard sales for pieces you can redesign and customize to suit your personal taste and style.
