Hi All,
Today I am posting from the amazing city of Atlanta, Georgia. My husband is here working a trade show and I tagged along for a couple of days. It has been fun but after four days I am feeling a bit homesick. I miss my kiddies, my cozy little house and my puppy.
I wanted to stop in and share a quick little project with you today.
A few weeks ago one of my clients contacted me with an interesting request. She lives in a wonderful old home with old creaky wood floors, beautiful moldings and all the things I admire about older homes. It just exudes comfort and charm, right down to the little white picket fence that surrounds her gorgeous cottage inspired garden.
In one of her guest rooms sits a charming antique hospital bed she picked up a few years ago. She wanted to add personality to it with some hand painted roses. I packed up my paints and headed on over to her place with brushes in hand.
There are some very pretty rose inspired vintage plates hanging above the headboard. They were the inspiration for the project.
A simple cluster of hand painted roses on the headboard and footboard gave this beautiful vintage bed a hint of the unexpected.
TIP: Regular water based craft paint sealed with a light coat of paste wax is ideal for painting decorative touches on pieces like this bed.
Crisp white linens, a vintage chenille bedspread and a folded vintage quilt give this bed texture and warmth without making it too busy.
What a cozy little space to snuggle up and catch a few zzzz’s! I am sure future guests will feel welcomed and at home when they step into the room.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed your visit.
