A Creative Halloween Scarecrow That Will Frighten The Crows Away and Maybe Even Your Guests!
Happy October Everyone!
I am so excited to say the heat and humidity is finally starting to subside and we have had some delightfully chilly nights here in NC. Ahhh! Autumn is my favorite time of year! Today I want to share with you a clever Halloween project that I stumbled upon at my local Lowe’s Home Improvement store. I wish I could take credit for today’s project but hats off to whoever did! As I walked into the Garden Center I noticed a Creative Halloween Scarecrow nestled in the mum display. It looked pretty simple to make too!
Create Your Own Halloween Scarecrow:
To create this clever Scarecrow you will need:
- A Bale Of Straw
- Inexpensive Disposable Coveralls
- A Few Yards Of Chain
- 8 foot 1″ X 2″ Pine Board
- 3 Foot 1″ X 2″ Pine Board
Start with the 8′ Pine Board. At about 6′ up from the bottom hammer the 3′ long board perpendicularly creating a large “T”. This will be your base. Using a post hole digger put a hole in the ground about 2′ deep and insert the base.
You can also create a base out of pipes as shown.
Tip: You could use a large flower pot filled with cement instead of digging a hole in your yard.
Stuff the coveralls with Straw. Place your scarecrow on the T-post and secure it by wrapping the chains around it. You can also add thin white string or fishing line to secure it as well.
This Creative Halloween Scarecrow is a simple project that can make your yard Spooky for the season. Place it in a home made graveyard in your front yard or place it in the garden!
Thanks so much for visiting today! Have you started decorating for Halloween yet???
