A French Country Vignette Adds A Touch Of Romance To A Living Room
Hi All,
Today I wanted to share with you a crafty little makeover project and French Country Vignette for my living room.
My son took wood shop class a couple of years ago and well, was not enthused with the class at all. He hated it actually. He did manage come home with a couple of projects he completed and stuffed them in his closet. Hmmm. I wish I would have taken wood shop class in High School! One of his creations was a plain wooden box made from simple pine boards.
I was proud of the fact that he made it with his own hands but it was a bit plain. Knowing that I would probably never see another wood project coming from my son I wanted to do something with it. Something that I could keep and enjoy.
My coffee table in my living room was bugging me. I was tired with the existing arrangement and wanted something new. A couple of months ago I created a couple of custom silk flower pots for a client and LOVED them. I wanted to create a few for myself.
I painted the wooden box a light blue, distressed it and adhered a customized French Postcard image to the front and back. I created two flower pots and placed them inside. This once nondescript box now it is a beautiful French inspired centerpiece for my coffee table.
Paired with a chicken wire bird figurine and large pink Eiffel Tower this redesigned wooden box is the focal point of this French Country Vignette. I love it!
Sometimes you just have to look “outside the box” for your decorating dilemmas.
With a little vision, creativity and paint you can transform almost anything into a pretty accent for your home.
Thanks so much for visiting today!
