With summer in full swing I thought it would be fun to show you a few simple ways to decorate our homes with seashells. Decorating with seashells can be a fun way to remind you of summer time all year long. If you live near the beach or are lucky enough to visit the beach over the summer you probably have a ton of seashells lying around. Here are a few ways to incorporate them into your décor.
Old Mason Jars And Such
I have a thing for old mason jars. They are big I vintage style décor right now and I love decorating with them. Fill a few old canning jars with seashells and display them on a mantle, shelf or tabletop.
Ginger jars are wonderful for displaying favorite finds too. Fill one with a bit of beach sand topped with a few seashells and you have a cute accent for any beach inspired room.
Any glass container like the one below can be can be filled with an assortment of seashells for a nautical touch.
Large seashells can be placed “as is” on a shelf or mantle. The bigger the better! Tuck them in with books and other accessories for a little beach magic.
Get Crafty
I had a large ginger jar that was missing its lid so I got a little creative. I wrapped the top lip in jute string and glued on a starfish. I filled it with a bunch of shells and it makes a nice centerpiece.
If you have tons of shells you don’t know what to do with, you can make a pretty storage box by gluing shells all over a store bought hat box or even a shoe box. When finished you will have a pretty place to store craft supplies, cards or any little goodies you want to hide away. They make great gifts too.
There are tons of ways you can decorate with seashells. Glue them to mirrors and picture frames. String them together to make a pretty garland for a window or mantle.
If you like the thought of decorating with seashells but do not have free access to them you can purchase seashells at your local craft shop or order a bagful online.

Seriously OBSESSED with this! If I had it my way, my entire apartment would be covered in coral. It’s so pretty, classic, and gives me a taste of the beach – which helps me to not be so salty!
Thanks so much for helping me think of ways to bring some of my favorite place into my current space!
