Decorating for the holidays on a budget this year? This easy DIY Christmas wall decor craft project is perfect if you are on a shoestring budget or just want a quick and easy way to make your home feel festive.
This crafty little holiday project can transform your everyday wall art into attractive DIY Christmas wall decor!
In my living room I have a set of bird inspired canvas prints.
To transition into the Christmas season I decided to wrap them in holiday gift wrap and make them look like Christmas gifts!
To do this quick and easy DIY Christmas project you will need:
- Gift Wrap
- Scissors
- Tape
- Ribbon
- Canvas Print, Painting or Framed Artwork
- Embellishments anything like flowers, snowflakes, etc.
Begin by laying your canvas or artwork face down on a piece of wrapping paper that has been cut a little bit bigger than the artwork.
Fold the edges of the paper around to the back of the artwork and tape in place, similar to wrapping a gift.
Flip it over and add a pretty bow from a ribbon of your choice.
Tuck in a glittered snowflake, candy canes, flowers or just about anything you wish! Hang it on the wall and you have instant Christmas decor.
I started doing this crafty Christmas project many years ago when our funds were low and collection of Christmas decor was limited. Even today this technique still looks great!
You can use any style of gift wrap that will compliment your holiday decor. Use elegant metallic paper as I did or use vintage Christmas wrapping paper for a retro look.
