Hi Folks,
As I sit here surrounded by Halloween Decorations STILL waiting to be taken down (Its been a very busy week) my thoughts have turned to Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are just around the corner and I am antsy to dig out the holiday decor. Thanksgiving will be going up sometime this week.
Today I am participating in The Story of A to Z’s Last Year’s Christmas Mantel Link Party
and would love to show off my Christmas mantel from last year….
This mantel is decorated with items and collectibles that are dear to my heart. The wreath has been decorated with an array of kitschy vintage Christmas tree ornaments and I love it. I bought the vintage Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas on Ebay. My Grandma had this album when I was a child and played it for us during the Holidays.
The flocked Santa figurine is a repro and is reminscent of one just like Grandma has and still puts out every year. I grew up watching all the classic Christmas TV specials and still get excited when they come on the TV every year. My favorites were the animated Rankin/Bass classic like Rudolph. My husband’s favorite is “The Year Without a Santa Claus” that featured Heat Miser and his brother Snow Miser. I found these figurines one year online.
I also added mason jars and milk glass containers filled with vintage ornaments nestled on a bed of vintage tinsel garland.
