My Cottage Garden

Springtime is finally showing off its colorful blooms now. I am not an avid gardner but I enjoy playing in the dirt. I can’t say I have a green thumb either sonce I have killed many plants over the years.
I am so happy to be able to spend more time at home this year and finally have time to work in my gardens. I would LOVE to have a cottage garden like you see in magazines but I will be happy if I don’t kill anything this year! I will be posting my progress as we move from Spring to Summer to fall.
I’ve had a good start so far this year. I have planted 6 rose bushes over the past year and they are all looking wonderful. The mums I planted in pots last fall are sprouting up, my butterfly bush is flourishing and…
take a look at my Dianthus!  (Otherwise known as Carnations) I planted these last year in a few different places and they have all grown like wildfire and are blooming like crazy. I have found them to be very easy to grow and even thrive when you ignore them.
DIANTHUS
My Grandmother gave me this as a small bulb a few years ago and it has outgrown its space in my front garden. I believe it is a Gladiolus but need to check on that. I love it!
And the Azaleas are also blooming right now and I love driving around town and seeing them everywhere. We always had these in our yard when I was growing up.
Thanks for stopping by today. Stay tuned for more from My Cottage Garden!

Your flowers are very pretty. By the way, the yellow ones are irises, not gladiolus. Glads are taller and bloom in mid-summer…
