This week's vintage finds. I LOVE the platter. I just HAD to have it. Now I just have to figure out where I am going to put it! The curtains will end up as a backing to a pair of handmade drapes I am going to make for my livingroom. I am going to paint the vintage metal shelf. Not sure what color yet. Thoughts? Once finished it will be listed in my shop along with the chamber pot. (My daughter thought it was a giant tea cup. Lol) Unless I decide to keep them both!

I love going to antique malls. Found a new one this weekend. There is just something about walking through the rows of old furniture, old paintings, and old books that I find so relaxing. It's a great place to find treasures that you didn't know you were looking for. Sometimes you might find something amazing, but it may cost you a little more than you were expecting. You may also find something that you already have, but in an older style or with a different color. The best part about antique malls is how easy it is to find something that matches your style and fits your home perfectly.

She also told me how she loved flip flops and could I incorporate that theme into them. We decided to make Flip Flop shaped pillows. I was excited to create them for her. Happy Wednesday Everyone. I just added this vintage book The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott to my collection of old books. I just love the cover so I decided to display it in my bedroom. It was the inspiration for this sweet little vignette put together with thrifted finds. The gloves were found at a thrift store in Belgium. Paired with my Grandmother's costume pearl necklace they look great. I remember my trip to Belgium every time I look at them! I walked over a mile just to go thrifting that day!

I recently found a new local antique mall an LOVED ogling all of the things they had. My house is so full of treasures that I have to restrain myself from bringing home a carload these days but I loved browsing. I came home with one pretty tureen that will eventually be put up for sale in my shop.

My pink vintage Hoosier table in my kitchen is my favorite place to decorate for Valentine's Day. I love to decorate for Valentine's Day in a vintage style. I blend retro kitsch with a little Victorian tossed in. This year I added two adorable decorative plates featuring vintage Valentine images, vintage inspired Annalee Dolls and other cute finds. I also added two banners I created using authentic vintage Valentine's Day cards I won on Ebay. (Yay!) I also put a red mercury glass candle in a vintage silver tray and filled it with a bunch of candy conversation hearts. When a client approached me and asked if I could design special memory pillows for her family using a loved one's cherished beach towels I jumped at the chance. She said her loved one had loved flip flops and asked if there was there a way to incorporate that theme into the pillows. I told her I would love to try to create flip flop shaped pillows out of them and she loved the idea. These pillows were a first for me and I LOVE how they turned out. Now each family member has a beautiful, HUGGABLE keepsake to keep their lost loved one close to their heart. I feel so blessed to be able to create items that mean so much to my clients. #shorts
