Wickedly Delicious Witch Finger Halloween Pretzels

Witch Finger Halloween Pretzels Recipe

Looking for a creepy and delicious snack that’s also fun to make? For this year’s Halloween party I will be serving a variety of Creepy “Finger” Foods. I found a recipe a few years ago for Witch Finger Halloween pretzels. (Forgive me, I can’t remember exactly where I found it). They are fun to make, look awesome and taste great too!

In order to make them you need:
  • Pretzel Rods
  • Sliced Almonds(Found in baking aisle of your grocery store)
  • Green Icing Gel  (Can be bought at your local craft or party store)
  • White Candy Melts (You can also you white “chocolate chips” melted with a teaspoon of crisco. I actually like this better but I already had the white candy melts in the house)
    Wax Paper
  • Tall Mug or Microwave Safe Dish
Wilton makes this gel food dye. When working with Candy you do NOT want to use regular liquid food coloring as it will ruin the consistency of the melted candy.
Put some candy melts in a microwave safe dish. I like a tall coffee mug because it makes dipping easier. Add just a small amount of green coloring and microwave on high at 20-30 second intervals. Mix thoroughly and heat a little longer until its smooth and creamy. Dip one end of pretzel in candy and roll around until coated well.
Place the coated pretzel on a tray covered in wax paper and place one sliced almond at the end for a “fingernail”.
Continue this until you have a tray full of creepy fingers! When the tray is filled, place the tray into the fridge for 30 minutes or until candy is hardened.  If you have little ones this is a fun project to do with them 🙂
