Summer Blooms

posted in: Cottage Gardening | 3
Summer is arriving here in Eastern North Carolina. One of the tell tale signs that summer is near is the sight of beautiful blooming purple cone flowers in my garden. I just love these flowers. Every year I buy a few and plant them. They love full sun, are pretty drought resistant and come back bigger and better next year. What better plant for a cottage style garden?
I am also partial to red geraniums sitting in pretty clay pots. To me they just scream “Country style”.
I always set a few of them on my front porch where they will say “A Country Welcome to You.” to all my guests!
I hope you are all enjoying this time of year too!
