Strawberry Heaven

This weekend was beautiful. The sunny skies, low humidity and temps in the 70’s gave me an itch to head over to our local strawberry patch. I packed my kids in the car and headed over to Bucks Corner Farm. I met my sister and 4 year old nephew in the parking lot and we began our search for the plumpest, juiciest berries in the patch.

We had a lot of fun together and ended up with a bucket of nice strawberries and memories. At a $1.50 a pound how can you beat it? I made a homemade Strawberry shortcake. Ok, I cheated a little…I used a boxed yellow cake mix but did make homemade whipped cream from scratch. It came out aweome and it is easy to make, is healthier and cheaper than the stuff in the can! I have a few other recipes to try out with my leftover tasty berries including frozen fruit bars.
Thanks for stopping in to take a peek!
