Recent Thrifty Treasures

Its been extremely hot and humid the past few weeks with heat indexes of 100-110. Its put a damper on my yard sale adventures but I have managed to make it over to an estate sale and a few of my favorite thrift shops. The estate sale was in this great OLD house in the charming downtown Swansboro area. I could have spent hours in there digging through all the goodies.

Here are a few pics of the great things I have found on my “Thrifty Travels.”
They had TONS of vintage books at the estate sale and I chose 3 to take home. An old Bobbsey Twins book, mini Christmas book and a Fun with Dick and Jane reader from the 50’s. I can still remember learning to read with Dick and Jane. They have since retired from the school system. My daughter is now 8 and didn’t even know who they were!
I love this picnic basket I found at a yard sale. It is just screaming for some paint!
I am hoping to drive into Jacksonville later this week and scour the thrift shops over there. Hopefully I will find some more great finds:)
Thanks for stopping by!

Great stuff. I love the old picnic basket too. It would look great stacked on top of my others 🙂
