The Prettier Side Of Vegas: The Bellagio’s Conservatory

Touring Bellagio’s Conservatory and Taking A Look At The Prettier Side of Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada has earned the moniker “Sin City” with good reason. This exciting city in the middle of the desert is full of colorful individuals like this man trying to make a buck on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd dressed as a showgirl.

Take a stroll down the strip and you will be bombarded by shady characters trying to sell you show tickets, grown men offering to let you kick them where the sun don’t shine for $20 and obliterated women in stilettos throwing up in the manicured bushes on the sidewalk. Sounds like fun doesn’t it?

Actually I love going to Vegas and getting out of my small quiet town once in a while. There is so much to see and do even if you don’t drink or gamble. Today I am going to show you a prettier side of Vegas and the best part is that it is totally free!

The Bellagio Hotel’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

The Bellagio Hotel and Casino is famous for its fountains but their eye popping magic does not stop there. Walk into the main lobby and you will see a beautiful ceiling full of glass flowers. Created by artist Dale Chihuly, the massive glass sculpture “Fiori di Como,” that hangs from the ceiling in Bellagio’s lobby is breathtaking.

Across from the lobby you will see the Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Whenever I am in Vegas with my husband I make it a point to stop by and admire this enchanted spot. This 14,000-square-foot floral sanctuary changes with the seasons and I was lucky enough to catch their Under The Sea themed display.

Thousands of flowers, shrubs and trees are nestled among wonderfully artistic, larger than life sea themed sculptures.

The conservatory at the Bellagio hotel also features the sights and sounds of water falls and ponds to relax one’s body and mind.

A flower covered mermaid perched on a rock looks like she just came out of the water for a moment to bask in the sun. I love her seashell inspired “hair.”

Bellagio’s conservatory and botanical gardens is free to all visitors and worth the trip. In a city where a bottle of water can cost over $4 depending on where you shop I’d say that’s a pretty sweet deal. This is just one piece of eye candy that Las Vegas has to offer for someone who appreciates decorating and pretty places. Stay tuned for more savory sites!

I have never actually stayed at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino but if it fits your budget I am sure you will be delighted with it. A stroll through the conservatory after breakfast would be a wonderful way to start your day in Las Vegas!

Happy Travels!

      Hi Shirley,
I can’t wait to go back next year. Last summer we stayed at Paris and it was so relaxing. 🙂
