My Vintage Inspired Christmas Mantel

Hi All,
Christmas is coming full speed ahead! Every year I find myself scrambling around trying to get everything done and I tell myself that “Next year I am going to relax.” Well this year is no different. Between working, filling orders, finding time to go Christmas shopping and taking care of the house and family I am frazzled once again. Remember last week I mentioned that I wanted to have my holiday decorating done by last weekend? Well, I am still working on it. I am almost done but have a few projects to do in the dining room. Today I thought I would share with you this year’s Christmas Mantel.

My mantel has changed over the years. This is what I came up with a couple of years ago….

That year was all about was “Christmas vintage Kitsch” that year with vintage collectibles. I chose items that reminded me of childhood Christmases that warmed my heart.

Last year I changed it quite a bit. I went with a  Vintage Inspired Glitter and Glam in a color palette of blues, white and silver with mercury glass, a vintage book page Christmas wreath and glittered treasures…..

And now for this year’s Christmas mantel….

I kept the same design concept of Glitter and Glam with the addition of a few new elements.  Front and center sits a really pretty “Shabby Chic” style paper mache reindeer I painted silver and dressed with vintage ornaments and embellishments. He’s so sweet.

I love my vintage inspired snowmen. These cuties were found at Marshall’s last year. I squealed with delight when I saw the Bethany Lowe snowman with the aqua blue collar and pom pom buttons. He just begged to come home with me. He is cute as a button don’t you think?! I love Bethany Lowe and her vintage inspired product line.

This large snowman was a little gift to myself this year. With a $12.99 price tag he didn’t break the bank. I am also a fan of glittered holiday houses. Even as a child I loved working with glitter in art class. It is something that has stayed with me.

At the base of my mantel I created a vignette of vintage animated Christmas figures and wrapped packages.
