Last Minute Decorating…A Quick and Easy Christmas Napkin Ring

Happy Saturday All!

Well, I am happy to say the shopping is all done, the menu is planned and the house is about half way clean. My gift wrapping station will be assembled in a corner of the master bedroom later tonight and the coffee will be brewing. Tomorrow’s itinerary consists of cookie baking with my daughter, cleaning and gift wrapping in between shifts at the horse farm. (Did I mention I am a horse person and work every Sunday at a horse farm? Yes, I am not just a crafter, decorator, wife and mom! I have loved horses my entire life and hope to someday have a little farm house where I can have a horse of my own again and a couple of chickens!)

Today I wanted to share with you a quick and easy napkin ring craft project that are perfect for the holidays.

To create these beautiful Christmas napkin rings you will need…

  • Pretty Christmas Tree Ornaments – one for each place setting
  • 3/4  Inch Fabric Ribbon that compliments your ornaments
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors

I bought eight of these pretty glittered snowflake inspired tree ornaments at Michael’s on sale. I chose them because they have a fairly flat center, which would make it easy to attach the “napkin ring” to it plus, it would lay flat on top of the napkin.

I bought this very pretty metallic silver ribbon also at Michael’s. I cut my fabric ribbon in eight  6″  long pieces. To check your length, wrap a piece of ribbon around your napkin, mark it and cut accordingly. I bought two different spools of ribbon to mix it up a little but you only need one spool. Depending on how many napkin rings you are making, one spool should be plenty.

With a hot glue gun, I attached one end of the ribbon to the center of the “back” of the ornament.

Next, I looped the ribbon into a circle and glued down the other end.

Once the hot glue is completely dry, slip your napkin and silver ware through your new napkin ring and you are done! That’s it! Pretty simple!

As you can see, I purchased two different types of ornaments to mix it up a little bit. I like them both but my favorite is the more delicate one in the image below.

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to dress up your holiday table this year, these napkin rings could be your solution. If you have your own creative napkin ring ideas I would love to hear about them!
