Giving A Beach Inspired Bathroom Personality

Hi Everyone,

Today I wanted to stop in and share a recent design project with you.

A few weeks ago a client contacted me with a dilemma. She was redoing her bathroom in a beach theme and wanted to do a seashell border around the room but hated wall paper borders. She wanted to know if I could hand paint a seashell border for her. Could I? OH SURE I COULD! I jumped at the chance. It sounded like a lot of fun.

I started pulling pictures of seashells off the internet for inspiration. My client painted the bathroom a cool ocean blue and added a “sandy” colored border around the perimeter of the room. When I arrived at her home I pulled out my inspiration photos and proceeded to pencil sketch sea shells within the painted border alternating sea shells, sand dollars and starfish.

She also wanted a faux window depicting a beach view painted on the wall for added interest. She sent me an inspiration picture and here is my version….

I used water based craft paint as it is very easy to work with and it dries quickly.

I had a great time on this project. In as little as 4 hours you can transform a room and give it some personality.

If you are not comfortable painting freehand you can purchase stencils and craft paint at your local craft store. For a little bit of money and some time you can make a room unique!

Thanks so much for visiting today!
