Get Cozy and Celebrate Valentine’s Day With A Romantic Picnic By The Fire
With February upon us, it’s time to start thinking about celebrating Valentine’s Day. Our love shouldn’t be measured by expensive dinners at restaurants, high end gifts that cost a fortune or dozens of over priced long stem roses. Sure those things are nice but the focus of Valentine’s Day should be focused on spending quality time with our loved ones and not the almighty dollar.
So, how can you create a romantic evening if you are on a budget?
Have A Romantic Valentine’s Day Picnic!
Stay in and just enjoy each other’s company. Who said picnics are just for summer time? An indoor picnic can be just as nice! Create a lovely backdrop for your Valentine’s Day Picnic by laying a cute tablecloth or blanket on the floor. Dress it up with some pretty dishes, candles and a small bouquet of silk roses or fresh ones from the grocery store.
Cook a nice dinner or order takeout from your favorite restaurant. If you do decide to go out on the town for dinner, you can still end the evening with a romantic picnic by the fire. Open up a nice bottle of wine and enjoy some chocolates or a decadent dessert.
Cute dishes and stemware like these hand painted wine glasses can really dress up any meal, whether you’re having roasted pork tenderloin with black trumpet emulsion paired with a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon or homemade spaghetti and meatballs with a Chardonnay from the grocery store.
Having a fireplace to snuggle up in front of is a wonderful thing to have but what if you don’t have one? You can create the same feeling by lighting an assortment of candles around the room. Be sure to dim the lights and play some romantic music to set the mood for a perfect Valentine’s Day Picnic!
Celebrating Valentine’s Day can be done in many different ways. The most important thing to remember is the day is about embracing the love you share with your significant other. Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year so my hubby and I may go out for a nice dinner alone. Where we may go I am not sure but I would be happy just stopping at Taco Bell as long as we are together. I have never been one who waits for diamonds and dozens of roses. Wherever we may go one thing is for sure, we will end up snuggling up in front of the fire before the night is over.
