An Owl Inspired Halloween and Thanksgiving Mantle

I find myself so busy these days so I decided to keep my Autumn decorating as easy as possible this year. I wanted to create a design scheme that could easily transition from Halloween through Thanksgiving. Today I am going to share this year’s Autumn Owl inspired mantle. This is how it looked for Halloween…..

Owl Inspired Halloween Fall Mantle

Pumpkins can easily transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving so my collection of mercury glass pumpkins were a great option for my Fall mantle. I also wanted to introduce owls into the design. Faux fall leaves, pine cones and a fall garland adds to the look. For Halloween I draped a paper bat garland across the mirror.

A hand painted glittered owl vase filled with glittered branches acts as the centerpiece and focal point for this Fall inspired mantle. This vase was very easy to create and I love it. I have always loved working with glitter!

This little ceramic owl was painted bronze and glittered as well. He looks perfect nestled in the faux leaves and pine cones.

For Thanksgiving I simply added this white painted pilgrim lady figurine. She started out as a thrift store find that bought years ago and painted white.

On the right side of the mantle sits a pretty white glittered snow owl perched on top of a group of old books. I love to use old books in many of my decorating projects. They are so versatile, can give height when needed and are great fillers.

Flanking both sides of the mirror are framed owl images printed on vintage dictionary pages. The frames were painted a metallic bronze.

Two small vignettes sit at the foot of this Owl inspired Fall mantle. On one side I placed a bird cage filled with pine cones, a vintage vase filled with dried wheat and a country style wooden pumpkin plaque.

Sitting at the left side of the base is a vintage owl, wooden pumpkin and an Autumn floral arrangement I created a few years back. I love this piece.

I swapped out the bats for a vintage inspired GIVE THANKS banner made from vintage book pages, vintage Thanksgiving images and glittered letters.

With a few tweaks I was easily able to transition this Owl inspired mantle from Halloween to Thanksgiving.

This stress free mantle is elegant, Autumn inspired and was very easy to revamp for Thanksgiving which saved me some time and work in these very busy days.

Hi there! This is absolutely bfautieul!! I saw this and it inspired me to create something similar for my wedding in February. Do you know where I can purchase the bottle brush base? Or if it is called another name? I have looked at a number of the craft stores in town and can’t seem to find it. Thank you so much!

      Hi Angel,
Do you mean the vase? It was something I had on hand but you may be able to find a similar shape on Amazon. It was a plain vase that I painted and glittered.
