A Shabby To Chic Stool Makeover

posted in: Cottage Decorating, Furniture Makeovers | 10

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve spent the past few weeks working on new products, tweaking my website and enjoying a little down time with my family. We all need to stop and smell the roses occasionally right?
Well, now I am getting back into the swing of things and have quite a few decorating projects in the works. I am looking forward to sharing each and every one of them with my blog friends!
Today I would like to show you a quick and easy stool makeover.
I recently redecorated my livingroom (again, the room will be featured in a future post) and needed a small table to rest a a drink on next to my loveseat. I caddy cornered the loveseat next to the fireplace so the table needed to be small. I was originally thinking Plant Stand and after scouring a few thrift shops and even a few furniture stores (I almost keeled over when I saw the prices) I came across this stool at a local consignment shop.

Shorter than a standard bar stool at 24″ it was just the right height for next to the  love seat. I snagged it for a mere $10! I brought it home, painted it my favorite AQUA blue and distressed it slightly.
Here it is in its new home next to the Love seat…
As you can see it fits perfectly! This Love Seat/ Chaise Lounge is a perfect place  to snuggle up next to the fire and read a book or magazine!

That looks so great. Love the bright color! I might just have to paint something this color.

I have a little white stool with a stained top I found at a consignment shop for $10 as well. I glued geraniums on top and covered with polyurethane. It turned out good too. I've used it in several areas of my house.

I love your blue stool! It fits perfect there!
