Meet Lisa

 

My name is Lisa. I am a wife, mom, interior decorator and self taught artist/crafter. I have been creative my entire life. Whether I am sewing new curtains for my bedroom, revamping an old chair or making a gift for someone special, I am happiest when my hands are busy doing something creative.

I have never let the amount of money in my pocket, or lack thereof hinder my love for design. I am a firm believer that everyone can have a beautiful home, even on a tiny budget. Sometimes you just have to get creative and rework the things you already have. It’s amazing what a little paint and elbow grease can do.

My own home is filled with things that speak to me and just make me “feel” good. It’s very personal and comfortable. Decorating after all, is not just about how a space looks.  A home should appeal to all our senses, both mentally and physically. It’s all about how it makes us feel when we walk in the door.”

When not working on a design project, I can be found hunting and pecking through tag sales, thrift stores and flea markets in search of vintage wares and décor items in desperate need of a makeover. I am a very nostalgic person, an old soul. I tend to gravitate toward things that remind me of the past.

As a decorator and avid crafter I've dabbled in everything from decorative painting, sewing, and even furniture making. I have decorated most of my home on found items that were repurposed and redesigned. I have never let the amount of money in my pocket stop me from doing what I love....create and decorate. I am a firm believer that with a little creativity, anyone can have a beautiful home, on any budget.

In 2006 I turned my passion into a business with the opening of a small boutique and design studio. It has since evolved into a successful website, blog and etsy shop. I feel very blessed to be able to be doing something I love.
