New Uses for Vintage Window Shutters

You know how I LOVE redesigning old architectural pieces. Vintage window shutters are one of my favorites. They can be picked up for a few dollars at antique stores, thrift shops and if you are lucky enough,  on the roadside. Old shutters can be used for a variety of projects. The following  is a shelf  I created using a shutter and new lumber. Two sets of shutters have been nailed together to create this one of a kind beach inspired table. It’s Transformation Thursday Again…Architectural Salvage Redesigns

Today I  am joing in on The Shabby Chic Cottage’s Transformation Thursday. I’ve been working on quite a few projects but have yet  to pull the pics off my camera so I will have to do a little digging… Ok, I’ve found some pictures of past projects. I LOVE working with salvaged architectural pieces. Old windows can be transformed into furniture pieces, wall art and shelves….. Old doors can be made into tables, headboards, and room dividers. Old spindles can be recreated into hall trees and candle holders…. and shutters can be redesigned into shelves, table bases and larger ones can be made into sofa tables, and also headboards.
