Crafting With Old Book Pages and an AWESOME Blog Contest!

Happy Monday Everyone! So, I’ve noticed in blogland that many people are finding new uses for old book pages. Old books,  sheet music and vintage pages seem to IN right now. Ballard Designs is actually selling old books tied up with string.  Priced at $18-$25, they are unreal when I can go to my local thrift shop and buy a few OLD books for a few dollars and rip off the covers and add some string. I may just go and do that too! Don’t get me wrong, BD has some beautiful  merchandise  but Come ON people! The Thrill of the Hunt

Long before I was introduced to Rachel Ashwell’s “Shabby Chic” style of decorating I was out and about happily digging through fleamarkets, thrift stores and an occasional rubbage pile. I grew up on the south shore of Long Island, NY where people throw just about anything out on the curb on trash night. My love affair with other people’s “trash” began when I was a newly married woman without two nickels to rub together. I remember being pregnant in the dead of winter and spotting a chest of drawers sitting out in the front of someone’s house.
