Summer Blooms From My Cottage Garden…and a Sneak Peek!

Happy Wednesday Dudes & Dudettes! Its been pretty hot here in Eastern NC and we are pretty much in a drought . We’ve had one quick rain storm in the past two months or so. My grass is now HAY as it is all brown and crunches under my feet. I’d love to water but our water bill is too high as it is. I have however been dilligently tending to my gardens and would like to share some photos with you today. This is a shot of my back garden right off the back of the house. Mid Summer Cottage Garden

Well, here we are almost at the end of the summer. It has been extremely hot here in eastern NC this year and aside from waterting I haven’t been doing much gardening in this heat and ugly humidity. I would like  to share some photos of how my Cottage Inspired Garden I have created in back yard has been doing.Its a work in progress but am happy with how its coming along. This Purple Salvia I planted this year is doing quite well. This crepe myrtle sits in my front yard and has been blooming for the past few weeks. They are one of my favorite trees. Summer Blooms

A post from last year….. Summer is arriving here in Eastern North Carolina. One of the tell tale signs that summer is near is the sight of beautiful blooming purple coneflowers in my garden. I just love these flowers. Every year I buy a few and plant them. They love full sun, are pretty drought resistant and come back bigger and better next year. What better plant for a cottage style garden? I am also partial to red geraniums sitting in pretty clay pots. To me they just scream “Country style”. I always set a few of them on my front porch where they will say “A Country Welcome to You.” to all my guests! I hope you are all enjoying this time of year … Continue reading
